What degrees are offered at LEAD College?

LEAD College in collaborative agreement with ORU offers a B.A. in Ministry and Leadership. This degree is primarily designed to prepare your student for life in vocational ministry but could have application to other career fields. After completing two years with LEAD College your student can continue her or his education in one of 19 different degree programs through ORU Online: https://www.oru.edu/online/

Is this an accredited program?

Oral Roberts University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. LEAD College is not accredited by HLC. Students must be admitted by Oral Roberts University and enrolled in university courses to receive the benefits of a fully accredited degree. 

If I attend LEAD College and enroll in ORU will he or she lose TOPS?

No, your child will still be eligible for TOPS provided she or he maintains the minimum grade point average and maintains full-time status as a student. Does LEAD College accept TOPS?

No, LEAD College is not eligible to receive TOPS funds because our agreement with ORU, which is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this means we are considered an out-of-state-school.

Does ORU offer financial aid or student loans?

Yes! Because Oral Roberts University is a fully accredited institution, its partnership with LEAD College enables enrolled students to pay for their college experience using federal financial aid. To be eligible for such funding, the student must file an Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as a FAFSA, and maintain 12 credit hours each semester.

Will credits from other colleges transfer or can I transfer credits from ORU to another College?

Yes! We can not make guarantees because each school varies, but most general education courses and some major-specific courses will transfer into ORU or transfer out to other schools. What are the minimum requirements for my student to enroll in the degree program at LEAD College? All applications and admissions requirements are handled with ORU’s admissions department.

How do I apply to LEAD College and enroll in an ORU degree program?

You will need two applications: one for  LEAD College and one for ORU.

If I attend LEAD College will I be hired by Church of the King once I graduate?

We make no promise you will be hired by Church of the King if you attend and graduate from LEAD College. What we can guarantee is if you give your best while at LEAD College, you will be set up for success no matter what your next step is.

Can you do LEAD without being enrolled with ORU?

Yes, we have a One Year leadership program. Through the LEAD One Year program, students will be challenged and equipped to take the next steps God has for them. Students will attend four ORU classes and will be required to do the work, but will not receive college credit.

What does Student Life look like at LEAD College?

LEAD College is a big family. We encourage students to get to know each other through various student life events, small groups, retreats and extra-curricular activities as part of their ministry training.

What does the weekly schedule look like?

LEAD College operates on a Sunday – Thursday schedule where students will be immersed in the culture of Church of the King, gain practical ministry experience and work towards a bachelor’s degree. Students will have Fridays and Saturdays off. In addition to this, students will be required to serve on Sundays at Church of the King as part of their course. Can I work while attending LEAD College?

Yes, students can work a part time job. We ask that your job does not interfere with your other commitments in LEAD, as that is your priority. We will work with you to optimize your schedule.

What are Ministry Tracks at LEAD College?

Ministry Tracks are part of Ministry training at LEAD College. This is what sets us apart from a traditional college. Ministry Training at LEAD College is focused on providing environments for students to gain real life experience in the area of ministry and leadership. This happens in two parts: (1) Ministry & Leadership classes taught by Church of the King staff and pastors, and (2) Ministry Tracks that are created to provide hands-on training that allows you to become specialized in a specific area of ministry.

Does LEAD College provide housing?

No, LEAD College does not provide housing at this time. Students are responsible for securing their own housing. If a student is in need of housing, LEAD College staff will help connect him/her with incoming or current LEAD students who are looking for a roommate. Most of our LEAD students in an apartment in the Mandeville area.
